In today's blog we are
going to discuss about how to prepare as Civil Engineer to be private sector
employee or How to get job in private company as a Civil Engineer. To get any
kind of a job first of all you should have the knowledge about what kind of
work it is ? What are our Duties ? What are Responsibilities and
Authorities ?
Basically as a Civil
Engineer to work with a private company there are Categories :
1) Office Employee
(Civil Engineer)
2) Site Engineers
3) Manager (Civil
Engineer)
Duties Of Civil Engineer
according to above categories
1)
Office Employee :-
Most Civil Engineers
work in the Office as Planner, Estimation Engineers, Project Co-ordinators,
Etc. Mainly these Engineers may perform following duties
a) Drawing or Tracing building plans in AutoCAD,
Rivet, 3D Max, Etc softwares.
b) Preparing the Estimates and Tabulating overall

c) Getting
the Submission Drawings approval from the Athorities (i.e., Mahanagarpalika,
Nagarpalika, Nagarpanchayat, Nagarparishad, Grampanchayat)
d) Material
procurement and ordering after Calculating it’s exact requirements. (Click Here

e) Gathering,
Studying and Allocation of Quotation or Tenders (For Material, Contracts, Etc)
f) Preparing

2) Site Engineer :-
a) Detailed
Drawing Study to know the activities, noddle points, Milestone of the project.
(A Milestone is a scheduling process that describes the set of relative
deliverables, i.e., when the item to be delivered).
b) BOQ
(Bill Of Quantity) Study to know the kind and amount of work to be done,
type/brand of material, amount of material to be delivered. (Click Here to

c) Site
Survey and Markup Drawings Preparations including on site and paper markup.

d) Cross
Verifications of the Markup with the Drawings provided.
e) Preparation
of Deviation of Work including both items from BOQ and Extra Items).

f) Preparation
of Joint Measurement Report (JMR), required only if the work involves

g) Signing
off
of the Deviation (backed with Markup and JMR) from the respective Client.
h) Calculation
of material required for the work and providing

i) Preparation

j) Maintaining
